Morning After Coming Home
Some Anonymous Non-housekeeper

When did the grass grow so tall?
When did the house gather soil?
Wasn’t it yesterday when they were fine?
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
swiftly fly the days
One season following another
laden with insects and fears

When did the cat pull out hair tufts?
When did the litter pan get full?
How did the living room get cluttered?
Wasn’t it yesterday. . . ha ha that’s a funny one!
Surmise, upset
Surmise, upset
Swiftly fly the years
One reason following another
laden with laziness and jeers

How utterly wonderful, I have been there too many times. Are you sure you are not talkng about my place?  Very good, left me with a smile for the rest of the day...gentle smile
