The Question and The Answer

It’s not like I didn’t try.
No matter what you might think,
I did try to tell you.
Try to tell you what was going wrong,
Try to tell you that I wasn’t happy.
The question is: Did you really hear me?

Oh sure, you can say that you did,
And that I forced you into a life
That you didn’t ask for or want,
But, did I point a gun to your head?
Did I force you to choose that life?
The answer is: No, I did not.

Sure, there were a lot of problems,
But we worked though most of them,
Or at least, we tried to.
And our life went on, together,
As we tried to make it all work.
The question is: Did you really try?

Or, did you just give a half-hearted attempt?
Were you willing to see the problems?
Or, did you have your own problems to deal with?
Perhaps you did, I’m sure that you did.
And, as you went through them, did you ask for help?
The answer is: No, you did not.

And, of course, now you’ll probably say
That I’m looking at it all wrong
And that you did try when I did,
And that I’m the one that did things.
Things that just made it worse.
The question is: What did you do?

Well, that’s fine, I never said that
I was the perfect one in all of this.
I know that I did things wrong,
And maybe I should have
Done some of them differently.
The question is: What now?

The answer is: Goodbye

PV,

All you can do is take the lessons you have learned and try to move on with your life. One person cannot make a marriage. It takes two all the way. Powerful, sad write here.
