It will be cold,
Without your
Laughing smile,
And soft eyes
To warm me,
So, I am sewing
A patchwork quilt,
Made from memories
of time spent
With you,
To wrap around
My heart
When the nights
Are frigid.

To wrap around
My heart
When the nights
Are frigid...

and the moon
peeks into
my shadows...

[you inspired, yet again...]

CPatHair~
When I think nostalgic ...
I can't think of a better phrase to wrap it up than patchwork quilt~
So I bury myself in it's warmth~

Know that I like it !

here you go again, Cpat, warming our hearts with your tender musings

I wrote three amazingly short ones, for me, yesterday on a picnic in the woods.  Posted them late last night, foolishly, because I'd been absent all day. Now they have sunken to the depths of the PIP Sea.  I tell you this, because SHORT is rarely in my vocab. or my  poetry, and you do it so very well, that I thought you might like to know I tried, too.

Minimalisticly beautiful.  You have said more with less here.  Enjoyed your metaphors.

Deca: Thanks for the comment!! Glad it inspired you!

Marge: Thank You.. yes there is something nostalgic and comforting about quilts..

Brad: Thanks!

VAS.. and good poems they are too.. I read them and enjoyed them a great deal

jwesley: Hope your wife enjoyed.. thanks for the comment

Mark: Thanks.. I enjoy minimalistic poems a great deal, and swear one of these days I will get fair at writing them.

1Slick... now what else could a poet ever want to hear? To touch another with our words is what we all hope for I think. As for a duet... I would be happy to try..

Interloper: You bud... are going to give me the big head... I do appreciate the kind words... and I am not sure that my "way woth words" is an equal to yours.

Thanks to everyone... for taking time to read and comment!!
