The Keeper's Lantern From a confusion of rocks A smooth, stone column thrusts A focused lens. Haunting, rhythmic Light bends Till dark thus pulsed Sparks a resemblance to the heart of the keeper Long since automated. Ocean sounds Push through fog In the direction of a cabin. Once within, the night air brings A finger to a woman's lips, Parting them until a sigh Escapes to sit beside the hearth And there await the sway of fire That glows diffusion Down the path. an interesting blend of images..all tied with a central theme which lays out for the reader an illusion of being there..but not quite... I always enjoy your words Bob... I have to stop, ponder, read again and wonder at what I am missing...I glean a great deal from them, but always feel there is a depth there I just can't quite reach... One of these days I am going to learn to write like this.... or at least I hope to. |

I like the light that this sheds Bob. . . excellent. . . ------------------------------------------------------------------ To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |
