God Bless America By: Noah Eaton 7/2/01 God Bless America One nation under God Interwoven in flying colors Which our fathers have sought Our founding fathers fought in war After the Declaration Of Independence was signed 1776 was that golden year Promising to free the natives from strife Proclaiming the notion that all men are created equal Endowed by life, liberty, and the pursuit for happiness George Washington crossing the Delaware with this endeavor Winning independence in 1782 in Yorktown, this land reigning with bliss Thirteen colored stripes adorn this graceful banner Flooding with stars from sea to shining sea Carried by our bald eagle, reminding us how close He is The Holy Spirit here for all who believe Expanding our horizons, in the Era Of Good Feelings New friendships are made, new territories to explore Elizabeth Cady Stanton holds true the belief of equality Leading women to fight for their rights, winning a happy future in store God’s word is spoken to those forced in slavery too Abraham Lincoln was our man of all seasons, our dearest emancipator Civil war later winning freedom for all our people Gods words written in stone on the thirteenth amendment, bringing our nation together Our Lord reconstructs our country, reuniting the Union and The Confederate Spreading our colors to the Pacific Recognizing all of our brothers who have fought for our freedom Their hearts the many stars that decorate our flag, our heroes never forgotten I am blessed to be a true American To be free and to be heard Our trumpets will never fade as we continue to strive Helping the world become a happy place, making a colorful effort God Bless America God Bless Us All Our land of the free Commencing justice for all… |
