Deep in the heart

What is the flame that lights the fire
and fills my heart with sweet desire?
No flickering flame present here,
it burns brightly, the price is dear.
What name to give this burning thing
that consumes my heart while bringing
me to my knees in a weakness
unknown yet, somehow, I could guess
what it is.  I could call a name
and identify this hot flame.
The answer comes like a rushing
river, undammed, free and pushing
itself toward the sea.  Here it is,
bold enough for all to see, 'tis
love that lights the fire, hot and bright.
Love is what fills my heart tonight.
Now I gain strength from that knowledge
and gather my wits.  A collage
of visions fill my fevered brow,
but I grow stronger even now.
Love is the flame that lights the fire.
You are the one whom I desire

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write. Philip Sidney (1554-1586) Loving in Truth

SEA has been treating you to more poetry, hey?  Or perhaps another has lit the flames that burns brightly in this lovely piece...

regardless, your candle, our light...

this is lovely!
