~~~ Give me this day ~~~
1.
A chance to sit quietly, and listen,
to the birds rejoice in the new morn,
before dawn arrives to light the day...
2.
Two ears that soak up the perfect stillness,
beyond the birdsong...before the daily world awakes,
to fill the void with noise...
3.
Eyes that look beyond man’s grasp...
Open to the splendor all around us, that nature shares,
and never demands payment in return...
4.
The happy laughter of children at play,
acting out their innocent dreams,
from innocent hearts that have yet to know pain...
5.
A rainbow to wish on...
a wish that could come true...
And the faith to believe that angels are real...
6.
Gratitude...for all the days that have been,
and all those yet to be...
And for all the love this heart still holds...
7.
A way to tell my friends, old and new,
how much I love them...
For the gifts inside their written words...
8.
And a chance to give back what I have received...
yes...a chance to give,
for that means a chance to live...
~~~ Give me this day ~~~

Just this one day...
For that is all we have...
And that is all we need...

The road goes on forever, and the stories never end...

If just one day were granted, then all of us would be
People knowing not the joy, of life as what we see
Our final day lets wish away for all to just be right
Wish not away a healthy life, keep all the joys you have in sight.

Lovely poem with feeling, well done.

Yes...one day at a time has always been something I tried to teach myself.  Saves a lot of wear and tear on your spirit that way!!  Thank you, my friend!!

In fact, we do only have today, and the hope of tomorrow. This is very pretty, and good thoughts for the day.

Sunny

This is most beautiful - every day is a gift from the Lord and we should be grateful.  But with all that is going on in our lives we fail to remember him.  Well done!
