The Wolves Listen to the wind howling at the door Or is it something more Listen to the hail scratching at my porch Quickly grab the torch Did you see that shadow slipping out of sight? Is there something in the night? Can you here the thumping of many padded paws Did you see those jaws? Quickly shut the door and let them have the night Sure gave me a fright Listen to them singing that lovely lullaby It makes me want to cry The sound of mournful cries fills my soul Somehow make me whole As clouds drift by in the star filled night Gone is my fright I find there’s a sense of peace instead As I lay upon my bed And listen to my brothers howling sighs Just the wolves and I Lisa ‘00 |

This is good! Brings back many memories for me, as I have lived in wolf country a couple of times. Memorable voices they have! Betty Lou Hebert |

The wolves are gone in Vermont, or so they tell me. But the Coyotes are great in number around my house. And to listen to them sing at night is inspiring. so this is what I imagined wolves would be. |
