“Etched In Time”

Our love is etched in time
Like the etching of sand on this beautiful shore
I watch as the waves come crashing against the coastline
The Surf in all Her thunderous “roar”--

I gaze out at that crystal water
Thoughts of you washing over my mind
Yes our love is forever
Etched into the hands of time—

You’ve become a part of my soul
As I’ve become a part of your heart
No matter what happens
Our bond will not end, even if we do part—

Some things are meant to be
Like the ocean so deep and blue
Some things are forever
Like the love I feel for you—

I look out at the horizon
Of soft blue sky meeting deep blue of sea
As I wonder for the millionth time
How did I get so lucky? Why did you choose me?

Our journey together has been tremendous
Your love lifts me up time and time again
I feel in my heart that what we share is magical
Loving you does not feel like a sin—

Yet I know you’re with another
As I patiently wait here for you
We’ll know when the time is right
For now I’ll just watch this spectacular view—

When many years have passed
And both you and I have gone
Lovers everywhere will still be able to hear
The beauty of our song

The tide and ocean serve to remind me
As I’ve completed this verse and rhyme
That our love darling
Is forever etched in time

Oh my, I have sat on the rocks by the ocean and thought these words myself. Very beautiful, and I hope you have your timeless love. That is how it should be.

Can Honesty ever really be "wrong"?  The ocean of love is a powerful and beautiful force -- just make sure your footing is solid and keep your eyes open for the undertoe...  Respect the ocean and it'll respect you in return.  You've written words with which I can relate all too clearly.

Wonderful poem my friend

( I won't tell them that the ocean around there is really more green than blue...lol)
oops-- I did...
