Listening to every heart

Last Wishes

to take such thought
and healthy care
and leave a wish
though not on air
to write it down
in black, and white,
and leave it for
our loved ones’ sight

last wishes

do not now try to
make your amends
do that while living
and joyfully tend
to the thrills of your life
and joys of your days
relieve all strife
from your ways

last wishes

and reader! now it’s
up to you
to do what the writer
intended you do!
take the black and
write of word
heed it serious
and be assured

last wishes

that the writer gave
long, careful thought
to all that is written
all that is wrought
and made these wishes
carefully
to be followed
cheerfully

last wishes

now please read
vigilantly
of these wishes
I give to thee
remember me
for who I was
what words are left
give them pause

last wishes

keep things simple
plain and fine
a slender box
one made of pine
invite my friends
and family too
to send me off
on a hill with view

last wishes

keep the sphere
cheerfully light
don’t think you send
me into the night
and there is one thing
I’d ask of you
to keep my memory
in your sing-song true

last wishes

once that all is
said and done
remember these
last words of Sun
bring a chime, or
two, or more
and leave them here
the wind to explore

last wishes

for in the evening
when dusk is nigh
and light breezes
come from on high
a chiming ring
I would have heard
as angels sing
their lovely words

these, my
last wishes

Last wishes?... I think not - The sun's still out - I checked... We can keep these words for future reference though  - because they're very wise ones...

these words I say, only for thought, as my life was mine, and yours is thine, if they fit, then use them well, for they served me fine as you can tell...gentle smile, loved this one, Sissie.

I have a chime, round like the sun..played by water.  I'm so glad that the sun still shines, but you are right to write it down.

Kari dearest heart, wonderful wishes indeed. But they better not be the last, no not in the least.

I wish you would write for all eternity, I've had a hard day and I need sun's surity
That ever when I need her the sun will shine
AnD then I'll know that Puck will be fine
When the rain threatens to cover me with doubt
And I've searched but I can't find my way about
Just let me see Sunshines eternal warm glow
Then my hope and love will once again flow

Take care
my sweet sister of heart
Love as always
Puck

Take back the hope you gave,- I claim
Only a memory of the same

Logan, thank you...I am so glad you took time to read...

Martie...I have several chimes...soothing...can't you see the angels come to dance in the moonlight, should such be heard in a cemetary?....love the idea!...

Nicely penned but let us hope that last wishes are MANY years away!  By the way, I liked the chimes.

loved your last wishes.....but don't take them as your last done wishes....because you have so much rays to spread over these blue pages....and outside the sun is my best friend.

Too bad!  We're not letting you go for a long long time!  If that time ever comes and I'm still alive then...

                                  "keep things simple
                                        plain and fine
                                        a slender box
                                      one made of pine
                                       invite my friends
                                        and family too
                                        to send me off
                                      on a hill with view."

I want to be one of the poets that writes a poem on that box.......because I know I'm going to see you somewhere again!

Evocative write!

Karilea~
Just beautiful, sweet poet !

*smiling* here, as in my yard there are many chimes~
Hung to play the melodies of those who sang life's songs.

Somehow ... I think you may have known ...

Appreciating the gentle breezes of you.

All the time I'm reading, the 2nd time through, cuz the 1st time I was thinking about my daughter's e-mail, anyway, I'm thinking, is Sunshine thinking/planning on the need for her last wishes to be known NOW? I'm happy to see what Nan said to you!

Now, "The sun'll come out, TOMORROW, tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar..."

So, Lord willin', you'd better!

I hope it's a long time before your last wishes are needed, but this is a lovely writing of them.   And your words are wise. More of us should use the present to make amends and not wait. If we know our apologies are heard and accepted, the days until those last wishes will be much more pleasant!

Last I heard, Sunshine will be around for at least another 5,000 years.  By that time I think my works will be written on the wind

Auguste, it is MOST certainly many years away...I've got quite a list of things yet to do...and I hold my plans very dear to my heart...

Charisma, you're stuck with me for a long, long time....thank you....

Ethome, IF? IF?  No IFS about it, of course you will be! And if I'm wrong? Then write away, Sir, write away...

Marge, you know the Sun helps create those breezes....they don't just come out of nowhere....[laughing]....and I am not surprised that you grace your home with chimes...not one little bit....

Virginia...you can take that bottom dollar to Vegas and then you can take your winnings to the bank....thank you!....

Brian, your beautiful caused great smiles...thank you....

Illusion...I am glad you see the message that was left...thank you...

Interloper...got that right!  Well, the first part at least....thanks!
