The Righteous Bow

by Michael

The day dies
and it has no regrets,
as shadows lengthen,
darken in their hue.

Some lives
will never know a tragedy,
their peace secure.

While others
have both
arrows broken
and
the righteous bow.

So often
it through tear filled eyes
that we must grow.

The learning process
wrought
with painful morns
and solemn eves.

Adversity,
is the breeding ground
of strength,
of dreams fulfilled,
though weaker men
will often trip
and fall there weeping on the field.

I’ve found my peace
in tormented nights
in acid days
and I weep not.

Such strength in this excellent write, Michael!  I like this a lot!

it was love that first drew me,
it is love that will keep me here...
now I see love burning brightly
when everything else is unclear...

It is true, Michael, much of man's strength and wisdom comes from adversity.  You, my friend, are both strong and wise....and you write a good poem too!
