I had dreamed of talking to you,
When I woke myself up speaking
Out loud to the covers,
And one lazy cat who looked
At me with curious eyes,
Stretched and yawned.

Nighttime still enveloped
The world in its exclusionary
Idea of understanding
That is broken only by lightening
Flashed dreams in sleeping minds.

Unable to see with the vision
Such ethereal revelations provide
I simply sat…
Hearing the echo of your voice
Reverberate off the
Canyons of memory.

I don’t know what I said
And the cat isn't telling.

If only we could stay in dreams, so much more soothing world it seems.

Yes, sly felines.  They don't say much.
Wonderful write, Ron.
I'm running out of adjectives, rascal.

This is super! You've given your sense of loss superbly...and the cat, the perfect touch, so extremely plausible, so extremely 'cat.'  Their devotion, though often said to be non-existent, is certain when they have shown that love is what they have for their person.

Wow......I loved it. The "Canyons of memory" is really a wonderful effective image....

But only if we could get the cat into talking to know it all........

Thank you Ron for such a wonderful read

It's so hard to get the cat to open up......I loves these lines.......

"Unable to see with the vision
                Such ethereal revelations provide
                I simply sat…
Hearing the echo of your voice
                Reverberate off the
                Canyons of memory.

                I don’t know what I said
                And the cat isn't telling."

Good work!
