Such quest for freedom, rose one fourth Declared and signed, they held their court A nation formed, of thirteen states A war ensued, to seal their fate Today we know, who passed that test This country won, we fought the best Great wars have tested us since then And how we've prayed, God find an end We've had to deal with questions hard To free us all, means no one barred Our flag of Stars and Stripes has grown Old Glory - stars of fifty sewn Let's celebrate how far we've come And think of where this all came from For as we watch and hear this day The light and noise of war, just play |

Yours is the first I have seen for this glorious, oft highlighted, but little understood, day... for some of us do not understand any longer the lives that have been given.... PoeticPlumber... thank you for this... give us more... |
