MEN...who needs 'em?  i'll tell you this
i'm not quite sure how to read 'em
they'll always come to dinner because
they like it when you feed 'em

once they're fed, they'll grab the remote
and comfortably kick their feet up
and when they take a bathroom break
they're sure to leave the seat up

they often forget such a special date
as a birthday or anniversary
and when they remember, they're weak attempts
may appear to be quite cursory

now...i must admit that for a few things
a man can be pretty dandy
when it comes to making babies
they usually come in quite handy

when seeking a man, you're sure to find
there are many types to choose from
there are tall ones, short ones, fat and thin
some are smart while others are dumb

some men can be quite gentle and kind
though others may act like a boob
some will be there in the flesh
while some simply come in a tube

so, after careful consideration
i'll share with you my point of view
"MEN...who needs 'em?", i'll tell you this
I DO, I DO, I DO!!!

Okay, you got me here, and it was worth it.  As we say in my family, they just don't get their turn for the brain very often.  Nevertheless, it sure is no fun being without one, is it?  *sigh*  Thanks for the smiles, and I'm really glad to see you posting again!

Well, who can get things from the uppermost shelf
and do it without a ladder?
Who can play "These Are My Favorite Things" when emptying his bladder?
Who can unscrew lids on jars when they're stuck
So tight no woman can budge 'em?
Who can be ready to satisfy needs
The minute that you nudge 'em?
Who can be trusted to work dawn to dusk
to just bring home the bacon?
Who can you fool into thinking they're great
even those times you are fakin'?
Who is the person you put makeup on for
makin' yourself look so pleasin'?
Who'll change the oil in your Mercedez Benz?
Girl, there are so many reasons...
Who is the person that helped you create
that wonderful cute little fetus?
and all that we ask is that once in a blue moon
Someone will say that they need us!!!!!!!!!

Hmm...let's address their qualities shall we:

Can we get through to them when they are reading the paper, magazine, watching t.v. or on the computer - no!

hmmm...do they do equal shifts with the kids and bottle feeding, housework, or cooking - no!

And...do they remember our birthdays, Valentine's Day or Anniversaries - no!

And...do we get equal time on the darn computer - no!

And...Come on - who really does the grass!

When was the last time he brought you flowers?

BUT

Do we love them just the same - you bet we do!

Vicky this was just great and trust me I tried to find one in a tube, no luck!  Guess, they don't want to advertise this I guess or that would be a serious option wouldn't it

And Nan is right, they are an option, never, ever a necessity - you GO girl!

Nice to read your point of view on the subject of the opposit sex.

We the men do also think, about true love to only sink, we do the things we hope will please our mate. We all are different in our way, all greatful for some love in day, for Mr right and perfect a lifetime you might wait.

Good to read and thoughts to seed, Keep up the good work.

Ah shucks, now I feel badly, you guys have a way of doing that you know?  Hey, I was married 3 times so I must like you don't you think?  It was just those darn toilet seats.  And...I had to share a story...Husband #2 (tall, dark, handsome, and not exactly a brain surgeon) writes into the separation agreement he wants the blanket his Mommie made us, so I gave it to him...I unravelled the whole darn thing, and sent each little ball, in two garbage bags by courier to his office!   They didn't say specifically now how to send it, and I lived up to the agreement didn't I?  He he.  Well, haven't been married for 8 years now, and this space thing grows on you, but ya never know, CAUSE I DO LOVE YOU GUYS HONEST!   NAN...you are a hoot!

Vicky, et al -

I really do try to be better than I am.  I always get  the dishes dirty, So she can wash the pots and pans, and I always leave messes around the house so she can do the housework, and I pretend to forget birthdays or anniversaries to be sure she still remembers them, and I always drink all the beers so my Lorelei won't become a drunk like me (hiccup), and I make love with her as fast as I can so she can go back to sleep, and I lay on the couch with my feet up so she doesn't get bothered when she vacuums and dusts around me, and I turn up the TV set real loud so she won't miss a single word of the WWF wrasslin' matches, and I always compare her to other women so she will know I'm thinking about her.  Now, am I the perfect man, or what?!  So, I ask you - why did you write those mean things about men?  *innocent eyes blinking*

Incidently, I love the poem.  It does make me feel uncomfortable, though, because I will never be good enough for Lorelei.
