Gather Me Gaelic ~*Marge Tindal*~ Across the seas of merriment docking pier on olden shore Whistling home past lamplight square as in the days of yore Engage me near the heather o'er hills rolled kelly green Where sunshine streams upon a lea homeward-bound on heavenly beam Heartland of the ones I love more than I can say Gather me Gaelic O' gather me Gaelic Half-a-world away Just beyond the garden gate waits my heart's intend Gathered in the arms of grace I have come home again Níl aon tintéan mar do thintéan féin ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Now you must know how much I love this one, all my relatives are there! Oh, but if I could walk through my Aunt's garden gate, I would be one happy little camper! I absolutely love this one, into the files it goes, and off to my Aunt by the wonders of science! Beautiful! "Lose your temper and you lose a friend; lie and you lose yourself." |

Now THAT'S what I call "multi-media"!! HOW did you get the music to play?? This was a straight teleport into a beautiful green land, a few thousand miles away. Very cool! -MVS "If you think you know it all, you have a lot to learn." |

Marge: This captured me from the first line and swell of the pipes. Being half Irish, it was a magical read for me. Thanks. Wonderful poem and art work. Betty Lou Hebert |

Ah Marge........beautiful writing! My Grandfather's name is Gaelic...Thyrle Gerard Foster...first name Thyrle. He's the guy that raised me and although I don't have him now I still learn from him everyday! "Heartland of the ones I love more than I can say Gather me Gaelic O' gather me Gaelic Half-a-world away" I especially loved this verse! |

Tá brón orm faoin moill. I didn't know if you're Scots (Gàidhlig) or Irish (Gaeilge) with your Gaelic. Would Scots be correct? Please tell me Bí cinnte de Déanfaidh mé nóta de. Of course, I am Irish and ... Beautiful work, as usual, and, as usual, I am far down the list of commentary. |

ahh, yes, me merry Margie lass! It brings a tear to me eye, it does. It makes me want to bellow out the song using the two notes I can sing. (I think I have two notes because I make my voice change to a lower pitch sometimes to add special effects to my singing). This was a very special poem. I love the way it flows. Oh, and before I forget - here's a huge hug for ya. |
