There's an ocean unknown That I must cross alone, But you're giving me the Faith to try it You're my Northern Star tonight, My only guiding light Adventure's in my blood, I can't deny it The voyage that lies ahead of me Is a leap of Faith and Destiny But the calling of your velvet voice Leaves me with no choice... And I feel like Christopher Columbus, Setting sail for The New World of your heart With a vision in my mind Of all I hope to find Your friendship will be my precious chart... I don't know what's in store, But I'll sail 'till I hit shore -- That's a chance I'm willing to take... And I'll leave in the past My lonliness at last To follow my heart for Love's sake Your laughter is my compass My map is in your smile Your joy's the wind that fills my sails And makes the journey worth while Now, I feel like Christopher Columbus, Setting sail for The New World of your heart With a vision in my mind Of all I hope to find Your friendship will be my precious chart... I am still a pioneer -- You can understand my fear Of losing this dream coming true... But if you'll hold my hand And take me to your land You'll find my New World is you... And I feel like Christopher Columbus, Setting sail for The New World of your heart With a vision in my mind Of all I hope to find Your friendship will be my precious chart... Yes, I feel like Christopher Columbus, Setting sail for The New World of your heart With a vision in my mind Of all I hope to find Your friendship will be my precious chart... Thank you, my Lady. Life is all about adventure and learning from the experiences. Forward, I'm pleased you enjoyed the read. "Success" is relative, like everything else in our lives... let's just say that it was a scenic journey with many entries for my journal of Wisdom. -MVS "If you think you know it all, you have a lot to learn." |

Very perceptive, SEA! It's actually one of my favorite songs I've composed, back in 1992, in part, completely inspired by a scene from the movie '1492" where many soldiers are playing drums while marching on the beach of "The New World"... that rhythm stayed in my mind and awoke me early one morning to where I had to grab a pen and write. That evening, the entire song was finished and recorded! How I miss Inspiration's kiss like that! Anyways, thank you! -MVS "If you think you know it all, you have a lot to learn." |

Thank you, Ethome. It came together, imagery, inspiration, and message, like dust particles kamikazeing into a bright halogen bulb that day. It's definitely one of my personal favorites. I'm glad I shared it with all you here at PIP. -MVS "If you think you know it all, you have a lot to learn." |

I greatly appreciate your positive wish, but alas, this was many lifetimes ago (though you know, memories and feelings never really die... they just serve to further inspire us and help us become better for all through which we lived and learned...). -MVS "If you think you know it all, you have a lot to learn." |

Oh the adventurous feeling, the anticipation, it is always so good. And then back to reality we go with a thud upon the shore full of seaweed. Or at least I do. So you are a songwriter as well, too many talents, methinks ![]() S |

SEA: actually, inspiration resides everywhere -- it likes to congregate here, though... Yes, Sandra -- music is what started it all, for me. Many other "talents" where these came from (can there ever be too many?). For me, it's simply who I am and what I do... It all comes from the same source, afterall, right? I guess that's why I like the term "Renaissance Man", in all senses of the description. (At least you make it to shore!!). Thanks for reading. -MVS "If you think you know it all, you have a lot to learn." |
