Driving along
Drink in one hand
Cell phone in the other

Rushing around
Kids to pick up
For dinner with his mother

Soccer game
Over at six
The kids jump in the rear

One misdial
One missed sip
It's an accident I fear

The law you say
Diminishes you
In freedom for your right

But is it worth
The 'death of you'
Not seeing that last red light.

Hey now...  some of us can walk and chew gum at the same time! :-}  But you do have a point regarding many people out there.  Nicely written and an important message to think about.

I wrote this because the just passed a law in New York that makes it illegal to drive and use a cell phone at the same time.

Good message, Sharon. Though many people can handle this, I'm afraid many can't. Even the radio/tape /CD player seems to be a challenge for some drivers. I have seen people go off the road just fiddling with it. I wish everyone would work toward more concious and careful driving, as far to many people are getting hurt.
Thanks for this.

Reminds me of me

I drive a stick, with a cigarette (yes i smoke) in the left hand, the gear on the right hand, and the wheel directed by my leg.  While I got the phone pinned by my shoulder so it doesn't fall off. And I pimp drive too (ya know, the laid back driving)
