The Story of My Life A friend of mine once told me, "You ought to write it down. You've done a lot of living, And you've really been around". I guess I've gone most everywhere, I ever wanted to... And turned my hand to everything, A man could want to do. I've rode the western prairies- The barren desert land... I've seen the Northwest forests- And the tropic island sand. I know a bit of romance, Of heartache I'm aware... These lips have framed profanity, And also moved in prayer... I've children who still love me, And a mighty faithfull wife. Perhaps some day, I'll try to write- The story of my life. I know about betrayal- Sorrows encompassed me... A prisoner to passions, By God's grace I've been made free. Tranquillity of spirit... Replaced my wrath and strife. Someday, perhaps, I'll try to write- The story of my life. |

Very enjoyable read -- simple but powerful and flowing. I especially like the way you phrased this stanza: "I know a bit of romance, Of heartache I'm aware... These lips have framed profanity, And also moved in prayer..." I'd eagerly read more. -MVS "If you think you know it all, you have a lot to learn." |
