Black and White

Onyx, like her evening gown.
And a hint of tusks
Once wrenched from the carcass of an elephant
Long since rotted in the dusk of Africa.
A cavern of dark from which pearls escape
Laden with musk as the pianist leans forward
To nervously adjust the bench. An absence of flesh
Exposed to beach bright sun
Are her arms and wrists by practice bleached,
Not to mention the faces in the audience.
Delicate fingers strain to introduce
Rhythm and heat
To an over-dressed drawing room.

My stars!!!  I am so ready to hear the first note!  You placed me there, the aura of suspense, anticipation.  The discomfort of panty hose and heels begging to be transported when the symphony begins...come, come, come, Now! I want to hear the song your words promise!

Interloper...thanks for dropping in. Meet you at the bar for a beer...this black tie crowd has no idea how to party....(cold beer in a metal canteen cup).  Bob

Virginia....Bless you (laughing)..you get the prize for originality. But...shhhhhh....you are not supposed to mention hose and heels in mixed company...especially any suggestion that they cause discomfort. You'll spoil all male illusions. Smiling. Good for you. Bob PS Uh......just how high are those heels?
