Can't Take Back The Rain I surrender to the motions and gestures of broken promises And, to the, " I swear, Girl, " with the sign of your hand I live endlessly searching for the path you've taken From in the midst of desertion here I stand... Life doesn't hold enough time for untruths these days And, a guarantee should remain acted upon You found the heart in yourself to just turn your head You can't take back the rain once you've promised the sun... You can't take back the rain that I'm drowning in It's nothing like the waters you've taught me to find It's so cold here now like rain in December For I feel each drop fall upon me one at a time... I don't know the answers to why you stand on new ground without me And, why your world is no longer seen from my eyes I only know the weight of your absence pounding on me For you can find me hopelessly now beneath cloudy skies... You walked away from forever, from a promise together And, walked away from my only way to dream You told me your arms would shelter me from hurtful hands Now, I've scars from you in what my heart had believed... I try and focus on something other than the waters that fall But, I just can't seem to find dry land at all My every day of this world could never again be the same You see, Girl, you just can't take back this rain... This is probably your very bed rendering to date Sauni, it was extremely well done and presented beautifully, it is just a shame it was so very heartfelt and sad.
