Twilight's Fugue

Deep quiet born of twilight's fugue
Perched entranced upon the night,
I care not what I have to lose
To gain this moments happenstance,
Mercury tossed on widow's weeds
Flowing tears upon those folds,
Diurnal sands spent fruitlessly
To come at last unto a close,
My shadow on a faultless moon
A breath of soul from cinnabar,
Relinquished now to touchstones lode
The heady scent of narcissi,
And when I rise again fulfilled
To pour myself into that sea,
My pleasure and my penitence
To wait in vain for twilight's fugue.

Olias.

Olias...this is fabulous...the imagery..the unique vocabulary and as always my fave thing about your writing is your wonderful touch of melodic cadence...
very cool write...well done poet of lyric and verse

I'm going crazy, I'm losing sleep.
I'm in too far, I'm in way too deep over you.
You'll always be the one.

there is no pleasure
that state of forgetfulness
nor penitence
the sea, a place of rebirth
revealed in your history

I'll have to let this one gestate for a while...  Very nice vocabulary and imagery that implies many more meanings than at first appear...  a somber, pensive tone; yet, much more...  A very nice word-painting.

OLIAS~
This is soooooooooo lovely~

'My shadow on a faultless moon
A breath of soul from cinnabar'

What a breathtaking image these lines hold.
Wonderfully presented phrasing.

This is a delight, Olias... but I found I couldn't read it quickly... I had to savor the images... and that was time well spent. *S* Great work!
