I am called beyond these words, To reach for a new touch on life. Going between these thoughts of you, I encounter small feelings, In the back alleys of my wayward mind. The trouble with you is that you don't go away. You haunt me in a lingering sense of style, And my heart still reaches once in a while, To see if you've given yourself over to Oblivion yet. There is a small way in which you gave of yourself to me, That I cannot ever experience again. My Sweets and love, you were, And I cannot ever forget that it was you who awakened me, And made me peer closer into myself. I embraced the new me just as much as you did, And perhaps got too caught up in being different, To realize that I couldn't really have you; And that you couldn't really have me. So what do we do with these moments? Shall we store them in a treasure of memory, Locking them away and forbid ourselves to ever again, Reach that same self depreciating state of mind? My Love.. You called me that, and I opened myself up to it willingly. Letting your voice take me on pleasures I wouldn't have otherwise sought. The voyage has yet to end, And I am finished making waves in that ocean. I am afloat and waiting on you to rescue me, But I am a dehydrating shell while I wait. And you have not come back.. No, you have not come back. Shall I seek you again? As you sought me once? Or is the memory of a friendship to be suspended, Remembered, Buried and uplifted at the same time? With a smile I pick up the phone and dial. Your voice on the other end, And I quiver, wondering if you even remember me. I'm shy all over again, Just like the first time we spoke. Did I forget you? Did you forget me? Have we forgotten that our lives once mercilessly connected? I'm shy all over again, And my shivering voice implores you with a hidden apology still d-i-s-c-o-n-n-e-c-t-e-d |

Keep up the excellent poetry. ![]() *Krista Knutson* |

I read and related to this on several different levels. All of them precisely captured. Impressive! |

Ahhh, gentle one, you go deep inside. Keep with a smile the good parts, let the others drift away in the surge of that ocean..very gentle smile |

Very well written, and friendships that "sour" are the hardest ones to get the taste out of your mouth. You show well to remember all the good things and just stay afloat until a life raft shows up. Great Jenn! ~*~ Tell someone you love them today, as tomorrow may never come ~*~ |

Beautiful writing Jenn! You've captured such a tender longing through these remembrances, and built the anticipation for "what might yet be" wonderfully, much enjoyed! ![]() Best wishes, /Kit |

wow. . .there's such longing and bittersweet memories here. . . it makes me wonder about some of the things that you've talked about. . . this was a trip into the memories of love. . . love once known, and love almost known. . . ![]() --------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. Jennifer, Somehow I doubt that he has forgotten you. You're an easy person to remember, my friend. ![]() Michael Michael Auguste~ |
