No Words Why do you just sit there with bruises on your face? Why don't you just pick up and leave this awful place? I have no words... Why don't you realize, be honest what he's done? Why don't you get upset, get real, and call someone? I have no words... Questions more degrading now, than before it seems. Questions held in my fears that manipulate my dreams. I have no words... God, I am asking you, "Please, teach me how to pray and show me what to do when I have no words to say." -Lighthouse Bob |

You've captured well how helpless we feel when we want to help or want someone to help themselves and feel our hands are tied. Great poem. |

This poem touched a tender spot. My bestfriends husband abused her for years. I tried to help for so long. She was so afraid to leave. In the end (after 7 years and 2 children) she finally found the courage. There is hope! |

illusion, You're right. It does seem hopeless, at times the best thing that we can do is be present and willing to listen. Cpat Hair, I'm glad that you caught this one or it caught you whatever the case may be. walker, Just be a friend. Blaec, You have expressed a very true to life experience. The fact is that leaving an abusive relationship is not a sudden event, but can be a very long process. |
