She's sleeping and I'm staring at her.
I touch her sometimes,
but only so lightly
as not to interrupt her dreams.

What's she dreaming of?

Is it me?

Even in her dreams does she feel my kiss?

Or is it a dream lover she craves?

Again I touch her.

She likes it when I brush her hair,
but now,
just two fingers trace a path from root to end,
then, her ears.
I can't see mine,
but I see the whorls of hers,
another path I have to follow,
a place for fingertips.

And resting right there
on the pulse beating softly in her throat
one two one two.
I brush my lips there.

She stirs at my softest kiss,
I stop to take a breath of her perfume,
but I have to kiss again,
And again. And again.

Three quick kisses would mark the route,
but her touch I can't do without.

She dreams, I kiss...

She feels the brand of my kiss
moving softly over her body
I start a fire burning
hot desire floods her soul

There ...at the very corner of her lips,
her ear, so tender.
Again her pulse beating against my lips.
she stirs and I pause not wanting to wake her

But she opens her eyes and says,
" I was just dreaming about you."

Hi!

thanks to everyone.

i must say that paula's being too modest,
so i'll describe the process:

she speaks like a sane person,
i rant about nonsense and
occasionally spout verse.
somehow, she assembles it into
these poems.

Paula? and Tom! This is gentle and loving verse...and speaks the perfect ambiguous "need to know" every thought of a loved one....beautiful!
