Time will heal or so they say
It doesn't matter anyway
My memory is strong
As I now carry on
And do what's expected of me

Although I grieve in ebbs and flows
My love for you will continue to grow
Taken away before your time
My heart becomes lost as it does pine

How my heart lost its way
When you were taken away
The wounds still remain
As I vividly remember your pain

How precious you were
And how deeply loved
I now look up to the heavens above
The brightest star that shines on me
Is you looking down so tenderly

You watch my life as it unfolds
And I hope you'd be proud of me
Here in my heart is where you now reside
Your kind face I so often see

My newfound love of writing
Began long after you died
Another way to vent my grief
Another way for me to cry

With the help of special people
Who encourage me as I write
I feel a much better person
As I follow my guiding light

Ahh, Suetang, what a lovely bittersweet outpouring of words that touch the heart. May the guiding light of all the stars put stardust in your soul today...gentle smile

Sue:  So poignant and tender!  I love your writing.  I've been gone for two weeks and just got back on site, so I'm way behind on reading.  Your poem is a beautiful way to begin catching up.

...the brightest star that shines down on me
is you looking down so tenderly...in your sea of grief and pain, what a warm and reassuring heartfelt belief...hold onto this until you shine as your own bright star...

What better way to understand ourselves and the world...than to write and read of it?

Enjoyed the words Sue
