the face of sheer rock
bears imprint of ghost stallion
erased by thin air

wow!  you have elivened this beautiful photo!  Is it Arizona, Utah, New Mexico??? Of course Idaho and parts of Oregon look much like this, too.  Enjoyed the read.

Actually, I just saw where you're from and it caused me to recall the area near Vantage and Wenatchee.  Is it central or eastern Washington???

Julian I'm not so sure I get the total meaning but I get the idea and I appreciate it !

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

Cpat Hair, Ethome and Janet Marie: thank you reading and enjoying the peering into rock formations with me.

VAS: this particular rock formation is outside Salt Lake City, Utah. You absolutely correct, there are very interesting rock formations within Washington State.
