Taking Time for Shadows Virginia Salter crisp morning air drifts in through screened doorway as shadows stretch to follow reflecting a strange image an image absent of animation absent of life yet at the edge just beyond the shadows life happens life flourishes in green, magenta, white trimming the silent scene in glorious delight morning patio awaits ready, ever ready for its visitors to sidle over stop a spell, rest renew in the risen sun of a new-dawn day four legs and a tail four pads and a wail having eaten, basks in sunlight then having warmed, leaps into shadow-covered chair curls up in utter solitude © June 27, 2000 |

JLR, come on over! I've not spent much time on my patio yet, in fact, I didn't get the furniture out there until a month later than normal, well, usual. Cpat. It is a pleasant place, if only I could get my computer out there without us both having a melt-down, then I'd spend more time there. I used to breakfast there until I started breakfasting at the computer. ethome and decaflame, thanks for the encouragement. Interloper, I'm quite like that, when I can be. Just finished working in my flower beds in the hot morning sun and am taking time in the shadows, the cool, the 'dry off' |
