An Ode Virginia Salter I rise early in the morn seeking time with you alone To fill you with warm or the freshness a new day brings As I seek the roundness of you, your full-bodied flavor I leave my dreams for more wondrous times to savor Grasping hold of you with all the sinew I behold Allowing your warmth to keep me from the cold I gaze into your depth the darkness edged with reflected light Taking in the energies when I reach beyond my sight I draw you to myself taking in your gift of vitality Renewing my spirit with a caffeinated reality Feeling excited and just a bit smug Singing my song to my lovely coffee mug © June 19, 2001 |

Would that mug be a Grecian Urn? |
