Mount Rainier Midday Virginia Salter Mist rolls in devours rocky crags. . . regurgitates sharp peaks in its wake. © June 24, 2000 POWER TOWERS Virginia Salter Power towers taking a walk over hill and dale carrying buckets and power lines cross the desert sand Tripping through the wheat, marching ‘tween the trees, silhouetting skyline, then sinking to valley floors. A golden path or one of brown they trek the countryside looking much like living brooms Sorceror’s-Apprentice empowered. Arriving at a city they crawl beneath the ground then rise up on the other side when heading out of town. © June 24, 2000 |
