A single candle in a darkened room,
Doth offer hope despite the greater gloom
And cause life's focused eye to settle there,
The tiny flame so used to fight despair.

The fragile filament to wind so fickle,
The slightest wisp of breath to wick will tickle,
Refuses with tenacity dark's cloak,
Yet clings against it's end, a death of smoke.

Instead it stands alone against the night,
Indeed it seems to amplify it's light
And in it's single function it is shown,
Defiance against the dim but stands alone.

And so adjust do we to it suffice,
To keep the little flame at any price,
For it is all we need to carry on,
Until reliev'd spirit sees blazing dawn.

Look ye! Look ye! From there into my heart,
See thee the flame that's here and won't depart?
Tis hope which won't extinguish in your night,
Now use it please to be Loves guiding light.

Aha! I've seen a candle
do just this
for it had sweet
a moment of bliss...

Well done Sir!

Romantic? Perhaps. Hopeless? Never! Thank you for your encouragement.
