Lord won't ya buy me
A Mercedes Benz,
That's how the song started,
And my dreams begin..

I bought a Porsche
The car of my dreams
Got quite a "bargain"
Or that's how it seemed

I saw an ad on my Tee-Vee
To work on my car
Inspections cost nothing
The place wasn't far

They had quite a "jingle"
From the Burger King song,
I'll re-peat it for you
It ain't very long:

"Lift the hood and pull the wires,
Jack it up and check the tires,
Any way ya want it you can have your way."

They checked out my engine,
They said it's a mess,
Need a new rack and pinion,
And that part's the best.
The brakes they won't stop you,
Your transmission's torn up
Your rear end is leaking,
Ya need a new clutch.

It was the car of my dreams,
But I think I'm now ready,
To burn up my Porsche
And buy a used Chevy.....

Hope ya all have been well...healthy and behavin'...I haven't been around to chaperone ya all lately.....take care....TOE

Toe, I have to say I enjoyed this even though a Porsche is the car of my dreams also.  I want a black convertible!!  Welcome back!!

With spirits at rock-bottom,
I don't wish to face the day.
But then I open poetry
And see Toe's been out to play!
Is this your explanation
For your prolonged absence?
You've been pushing broken Porches
And dreaming of a Benz?

Hey, sweet cheeks... we'll take up a contribution to help you finance that Chevy if it will get you in here more often! LOL. (But as chaperone??? LOL Hmmmmm... Nan's eraser is doomed. *G*)

This is great, Toe... just seeing your name brightened my morning... and your poem left me grinning. *S*

It was so great to see your name on the board again, I ran right in and wasn't disappointed, which is quite a contrast to the capturing of YOUR dream.  Sorry it worked out that way, but loved the poem that ensued. Dreams just aren't what they used to be! Hope you're able to be around a while.

Please forgive me for grinning at your misfortunes.   But I couldn't help it - this is delightful.
