Brown eyes looking with love and trust, as my hand stroked the dark brown hair. Warm body pushing against me, Gentle pressure of not wanting to leave. Thoughts wandered as my hand lay still, as head turned against my palm. Why can’t humans be as she? The wants and desires are so much the same. She didn’t ask much, only a pat or two, A gentle voice to reassure love was there. In return she gave so unconditionally. Love, loyalty and a desire to please. What lessons are there to learn, from animals that we say are dumb. |

Logan~ The movements sound so familiar ... I'm a dog-critter lover myself ... Four of the darlings to be exact. An Australian Blue Heeler, a Golden Lab, a Beagle and a Toy Pomeranian .... DOGS-R-ME ! Such loving loyalty and pleasure they give. Thanks for sharing ... ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Indeed...I am the proud owner of ridiculously spoiled dogs and cats and kids--a long list (I suffer from delusions--they all own ME) but I get back quadruple the love that I give them...not a day's regret. Thanks for this! |

Yanno I knew it was a dog the first three lines, do I get a prize? Great poem, and is there anything more comforting than the love on an animal, I say we have "Love Your Pet Day"! And, it started here today, great poem. ~*~ Remember to tell someone today that you love them as tomorrow may never come ~*~ |

It's an honest love they give, isn't it? And the question, I believe, is one to linger upon. Wonderful, my friend. Not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment. |

...could the answer possibly be when we do and be exactly what we are made to do and be, it comes with unconditionality...so many molds available to bend and break our true natures...but dogs??? doing just what they were made to do....makes life so simple... are you with me on this??? |

Nothing like a sweet dog giving you that look of adoration. I have loved many animals in my life, more often cats. My most beloved friend was my cat, Mia, who was with me for nearly 19 years. I got to know 2 Chocolate Labs very well through a friend, and they were so full of love. I still see their big brown eyes. S |

I recently lost Buster my cat who'd have been 20 years old on July 4th. I miss his unconditional adoration and companionship. Thanks. |
