It's the end of the line
for Poet deVine
the train has pulled into the station

Her ticket expired
she's not desired
she's lost her motivation

Her rhyme is depleted
torn up, short sheeted
and lacking in the power to amuse

She's getting upset
without regret
she's definitely got a short fuse

Her dander is rising
it's not surprising
the heat must boil her brain

So without further ado
I give now to you
a most deVine explain!

My man ran away
with a woman from Calais
and took my Sheltie named Fred

They took the fridge
and the cat named Midge
and the blanket right off my bed!

So if there's no reason
in my rhyming this season
and my verse is anything but funny

It's because of that man
we'll call him Stan
is no longer my sweet little honey!

Refrigerators can be replaced, Stan had a problem if he had to take a lap dog and I suspect you will find new inspiration. Thanks for the laugh.

My favorite brand of humor.. Sounds like you are better off, although I am sure you will miss the sheltie and the fridge... (giggles)

Blessed be and merrily met with good thoughts and feelings to all

Sheesh, take anything but the dog!  I had a husband once who wrote his favorite "blankie" into our separation agreement...I gave it to him too, I unraveled it square by square, and put it in a big green garbage bag, hey, they didn't say how he was to get it after all, so he got it!  Fun stuff Sharon.

Did he leave the pickup truck???

Losing a dog is bad enough.... but if he took the truck too...you may have a case for abuse...

Enjoyed the read!

at least mine left my daughter, the house and the cats...written in humorous form but so close to the norm, I don't know whether to laugh or to cry...I'm just hoping that you aren't really leavin' the writin' scene, nor PIP, that'd be the pits and pip's.

Ha, glad it is not true. Very cute. Though I may have been relating a bit too much.

Dog doesn't rhyme with Stan...

I guess you'll just have to keep on writing until you get it, write?...

Whew!! I awfully glad you have both the dog and your sense of humor. Truly a good dog is difficult to find.
