The Best Day of My Life |

Years have spun their tale and I look back through journals, notes if you will: each year a different colored notebook, as if color could be captured somehow in these too brief pages, as I sit thumbing. My search is for that telling of marvel however full, however brief, when joy filled my eyes, ears and mouth with those famous words: “this is the best!” Certainly, this journey has no known end, although I witness snapshots that inspire memory, perhaps passion. The sun warm on my face, the breeze tender, and the sea wall a deep washed bronze: I remember June flowers falling around my feet, a smile plays upon my lips brushed with anticipation. How can I breathe deeply enough to swallow all of creation at this present moment? How can I dare a dream? I am laughing as children do for no apparent reason but for the love of time spent today, for I cannot fathom the depth of yesterday or length of tomorrow. Who knows the hour of my time or the wishes of the Devine that binds me here? So I shall declare with thanksgiving today as the best day of my life. Marge, Logan and Lone Wolf: thank you very kindly for taking a dive into the past only to find this day. I'm hedging my bets toward yet another birthday. Tick, Tick...uh oh. "I am not now that which I have been." |
