For You, Dad...With Love |

I have many memories to share Of the times it was just you and I Doing something together A father daughter bonding I have a confession to make Sometimes I just went along Because it was my time with you Not because I really wanted to They were usually fun times So I really didn’t mind To me it was our special time Which was the major draw Remember all the days We’d get up at the crack of dawn Getting the boat out on the lake To try to catch some early fish? We’d pack a cooler with lunch And took along drinks Rain or shine, we were out there As the sun rose over the horizon You know, I hated getting up early But those were some of the best times We shared together on the smooth water Talking quietly while we waited Sometimes we were successful Bringing back some fish for dinner Other times we came back empty handed Yet we didn’t see it as failure After all it was a bonding of sorts This ritual we often shared No, I didn’t go with you every morning But I’d be waiting on the dock when you returned I’d ask if you got anything Once the boat was tied up Many times you’d smile and say no I could always tell if you were teasing me Usually that was when the fish on the stringer Would flip and jump in the boat I caught many myself on our trips We’d always see who got the biggest one Remember all the bets we had Can’t believe we bet money on fish! Yet we always did each year Somehow I usually won Must have been dumb luck on my part But every now and then you’d beat me It really didn’t matter though We had fun and that was the important thing These are just a few of the many memories I reflect on in my mind here today It’s your special day and I just wanted to say A few things to you because oftentimes we don’t You are the most wonderful father anyone could hope for Giving of yourself and your time to us unselfishly I know you’d do anything for me and I appreciate that I’d do anything for you in a heartbeat You always made things fun and times special Just by doing some small seemingly insignificant thing So on Father’s Day I salute you and thank you For the many sacrifices you made throughout the years I bet you thought they went unnoticed But I remember each and every one As clearly as if it occurred yesterday I love you for them all and so much more Happy Father’s Day, Dad I send all my love to you Always and forever Because you are a special man All writing comes |

What wonderful reflections of you with your father. These are emoments that are never forgottenm and today is the day we remember our fathers and appreciate all thaey have done and all the love they have given. I enjoyed reading of those times.Thank you Liz |

Sunshine: Oh yes, I've done that too!! Ouch!! You're welcome and thank you. Logan: I think I am among the fortunate to have such a wonderful Dad growing up. We could have been anywhere as long as I was with him it didn't matter. Marge: Thank you, they are very precious to me.
