the trip begins in a mellow tick as the sun comes over the east past the Sierra's and the fault waking up a sleepy land of fame. the time starts to quicken in pace as the eyes begin to roll and gaze at the air above us turning blue the clouds forgetting what rain tastes like. in the hours before the air guns go trying to keep away the birds I can breathe a silent moment in and feel california lift me again. I get into my car and start my heart racing for a drive through a small mountain pass we have thirty miles to the ocean mist. a drive that I gather all my speed feeling the tires given way twist and turn like the mountains I'm in to feel heaven fall this day. and scream with laughter my praise to a day filled with freedoms bliss to touch the ocean on my knees the wind takes me back to this. would I ever leave such a place? I have, and still I came back home to mountains, cities, roads and oceans blue of my perfect california love. |

Now that was a beautiful scenic drive, and I loved it! ~*~ Remember to tell someone today that you love them as tomorrow may never come ~*~ |

Beautiful scene....very enjoyable read! The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up |

OK, I am homesick enough, this about finished me off. I want to go home... This is so beautiful, and so true. Sandra |

I smelled the sea breeze and saw the blue, heard the seals barking and felt the wind. "I am not now that which I have been." |
