moments with you
are like a string of beads
adorning my life with glistening light
that sparkles my eyes
and sweetens my tongue
with words of joy
and love

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

so often in living
one finds that they think of
other times
the trials and joys that were held
in them
instead of thinking of
and listening to
today
or it’s spent in
planning, fearing
for the future
how does one experience
now
could it be
by merely turning on
one’s senses?

the title intigued, as i wonder what moments are not thus. And yes to live within today, the goal. But more easily said than attained.

I think in two words..caring and sharing..these live the moments of the NOW...gentle smile,,very nice VAS

Indeed, more contemplation means less in the present moment...sometimes just need to open all the senses and let the moment alone guide. Wonderful write.

Could very well be! You know the old cliche ...."take time to smell the roses"... just because it's a cliche doesn't mean it's not noteworthy advice. Great poem Virginia!

you know, i have similar thoughts recently...there is no moment like the prsent and one should take each day at a time and live it well, never wasting it...

your poem just reinforces my determination...

i will open up my senses assuredly...

Some people are blind to what is around them and no matter how hard you try to show them what is right there for all to see, they still don't get it. Very profound thoughts, VAS. You got me thinking here!
