OCD

I have this odd attraction to numbers
picturing them in my mind
the even ones my favorites
sometimes adding them
better enjoyed…multiply by two
(they’re all even then)
counting, counting…numbers
are what I see
whether letters in words
tiles on ceiling
cats lying on me
two black, two yellow
everything in even numbers
it’s an odd obsession
but one I enjoy
this attraction to numbers

Numbers are lovely to run through the mind, and see the adding tape collect them all up, being surprised what you have received as a total at the end of the day..enjoyed...gentle smile

Numbers add up to math, which was my worst subject in school! Interesting view though! Enjoyed this.

Well at least it is not straigtening fringes on carpets! I drive myself crazy...boy could I relate to this one, and I enjoyed it too.

Numbers are not as attracted as letters to me. Math was never my favorite. Good that you recognize it and enjoy it. Enjoyed this one.

When they said numbers, my mind mumbled something about chocolate chips cookies and milk, and there went my passion for mathematics. Excellent poem.

Numbers, numbers, numbers, How well, I know this curse. In youth, counting number of letters in words, sentences. Alas, the simple number counting has moved away, been replaced with thoughts of death, being alone. Nicely written, and true, too.
