Following thoughts [for Marge]

a poet’s penning
of my pedantic
nature

targeted my backside
quite well

so my thoughts followed
haphazard

searching

landing on my
name

and for a joke, picked
up circa 1951 Webster
year of birth
looking for something
similar

to me

finding

the Republic of Karelia

jumping ahead
fifty years

and finding petroglifs

where did she come up
with my name and
had she known
of this
location?

did she have a
dyslexic moment
and put the “i” before
“e” even if there wasn’t
going to be a
“C”

most folk have a name
that “means”
something

if I stretch my
imagination,
mine then possibly
means

“Finnish Republic”

good laugh, Mom

computers, however,
have a way of putting the
stamp on something

unique

and research shows
that there are
Karelian Petroglifs

left, stamped long before you
or I
were even a
product sampling of
DNA combined

here long after you
or I
are no more.

I wonder.  Whose words
will then come back to
be recalled?

I need to find
a rock.
