                    “I GIVE THIS RING”
                                 by

This ring I present to you, with these words,
as I slip it onto your finger,
the one closest to your heart…
I ask you to always wear it, and know it’s there,
for I do this with my devotion,
                praying never to part…

Many years of sadness have I lived, not knowing why,
tears would come down like the rain,
and I felt, as if I would drown…
Loneliness followed me, and I knew this unseen pain,
lived in darkness, never knowing a smile,
                my heart would always, shutdown…

But that day did come, one that was in my dreams,
I found someone, and it was you,
with a caring that only one, could possess…
You never question yourself, giving to me unconditional,
everything that you are, being and soul,
                and never, anything less…

These are only a few, of the reasons I give this ring,
but I would say just a few more words,
                which are true…
I have never felt this way before, the way I do now,
        for in my heart,
                there’s only you…
