What a Father Brings

He brings solidarity,
sanctuary in his bearing,
and though he tries to hide it,
he’s passionately caring.

Unwavering strength,
a sense of tranquility,
a different role for each of us,
a complete circle of family.

To a daughter, he is a paradigm -
what a gentleman should be,
enduringly solid,
but with flexibility.

To a son, he is an ideal,
teacher, coach and friend,
he understands the demands
of growing from boy to man.

To a wife, he is a counterpart
in creating harmony,
a partner in all aspects;
a lover, with security.

A father brings the gift
of giving of self,
and this is the essence
of love itself.

A beautiful tribute and a wonderful father's day gift.
