Stilled On frozen ground, stood I, staring into gray skies above feeling only the cold blowing. Wondering if my thoughts rode the wind to him, what he would say. Each time I visit, my worries are deeper, my frowns more pronounced, my tears ever flowing. Today, sobbing, I stood, afraid to face him, looking down to the ground, shaking. Then everything stilled. The winds calmed. Able to look up, I leaned in, fingers tracing his name, my name once. Thinking how I missed saying goodbye and how hard it is to do so, even today. I asked for a miracle, but deep down, he can't help me now. If only he knew what was happening, was here to listen, to advise, to support. He believed in me, watched me grow, embraced my changes, understood my moods, measured my strengths, valued my reality and loved me in reserve. Tonight I am wishing, if only in memory, a Father's Day of happiness to my own and for all to share in. ~Wynter "The worst prison would be a closed heart". |

A very tender and private moment. Thank you for sharing with us. Being a father of three, I can understand your pain here, so God bless on Father's Day...gentle smile |

Logan, Cpat A private moment...yes, but I hope one that others feel. You never know what you have lost until it is not there to have.. Thank you both. I miss my father and am very lucky to have had nothing but wonderful memories of him... ![]() have a wonderful Sunday ~Wynter "The worst prison would be a closed heart". |
