The Storm A summer storm came through last night Fierce lightening struck the source of light And blinded sight of drenching pour As thunder rocked the walls and floor The roar of heavy wind spun fright Of wild tornadoes in the night I heard the others talk and pace While looking out from place to place Wrapped in blankets cuddled warm I dreamed throughout the brutal storm Of how you calmed my mind and heart And felt your love while we’re apart The lightening spears were falling stars The beams of Jupiter and Mars The rocking of the walls and floor Was love we made, not mighty Thor The rain that poured on window’s sash Were rhythms of the waves that crash In visions of the wild sea That spins the earth when you’re with me The howling winds were whistling pines That sang me songs of coming times Of longing to be there with you Sweet lullabies to see me through It poured and blew throughout the night And in the morning’s breaking light The storm had passed and silence came And I in comfort still remained I heard them say, while cuddled warm How could she sleep right through that storm Impossible would be the words To tell what I had seen or heard I said you’re right I slept right through But really I was there with you Elizabeth Santos |

Contentment is strong indeed. Live for love. Without love, you don't live. |

Seems a stormy theme lately. I love this, Liz. It takes my breath away, and I know I say that all the time about your poetry, but I can say nothing else for such beauty. I dreamed of tornadoes last night. Too weird. |

...closing my eyes and drifting with your feelings through words took me right through the storm straight to my lover's embrace..how magnificent the strength of the feelings... |

Loved it Liz-- great job There is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar. |
