First Kiss of Summer Virginia Salter razzle, dazzle, razzle berries tease my tongue and dance my nares picking one an’ picking two should I save a few for you in my tiny garden measure is my little razzle treasure seems it’s quite apparent, dear someone beat me to my cheer feathered miss or thieving gent are likely where some berries went as I spot ‘mong maple trees ‘tempting grow beneath my knees find them all, a little bunch rinse them now, too late for lunch ooh there’s one so sweet and juicy even those a little mooshy if you were here, my darling friend I’d share with you until the end yet since you’re not, no need to worry I’d not let them rot, no need to scurry for there’ll be gone before you know it my teeth will have the seeds to show it so take it from me, friend of mine there’s some more upon the vine and should you perchance to by here tarry bring a thimble for you to carry a sampling of my little nest of my razzleberry treasure chest © June 13, 2000 |
