Journey's End Oh, would that I could comprehend, What lies in wait at journey's end; A life in judgment's brief review, Encapsulating all we knew. For such is life, a moment's glance, A brief respite where spirits dance; Alone we enter, gather steam, And walk the path we choose to dream. Decisions fraught along the way, A chance to mold our final day; When all we've been and all we've done, Will be revealed to each as one. Brief snapshots of a life in time, Shall play upon the fading mind; All chances lost to pending fate, A swift rewind without debate. Unanswered questions, all for naught, Will drift in haze of afterthought; While fragments of the bittersweet, Repeat in thought as visions meet. No longer time to make amends, As spirit climbs in slow transcend; Life chronicled for those to see, The irony in what may be. How bless'ed those, upon inspect, Who live their lives without regret; For they shall gaze on all they've known, Unhindered by the visions shown. /Kit McCallum |

Oh,Kit~ What thoughtful points of ponder ... 'No longer time to make amends, As spirit climbs in slow transcend, Life chronicled for those to see, The irony in what may be.' Most wise in your observations ... at 'Journey's End' ... 'No longer time to make amends.' And so we must accomplish the amending before that time ... 'A chance to mold our final day' Much to think about in this beauty from your pen. Thank you for touching me. *Hugs* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

A lot to think about here. Good read. I like these lines. No longer time to make amends, How bless'ed those, upon inspect, Who live their lives without regret Somethings I have regretted, but I have come to terms with them, before there was no longer time to make amends. Thanks Melton |

What a marvelous and wise piece you have composed here Kit! Verse after verse....just good good writing! For such is life, a moment's glance, A brief respite where spirits dance; Alone we enter, gather steam, And walk the path we choose to dream. Brief snapshots of a life in time, Shall play upon the fading mind; All chances lost to pending fate, A swift rewind without debate. No longer time to make amends, As spirit climbs in slow transcend; Life chronicled for those to see, The irony in what may be. How bless'ed those, upon inspect, Who live their lives without regret; For they shall gaze on all they've known, Unhindered by the visions shown. Gotta tell ya my dear Canuck lady....I love the whole thing!! |

"I am the master of my fate." That phrase came to mind as I read this. (Incidentally, those are the last words of Timothy McVeigh, who will today discover his fate.) Very nicely done, Kit. |

Kit how wise! I am sure this is my absolute favorite, and have printed this out to "fully dissect it", as there are just too many thoughts to ponder. I too could not pick even one favorite line, as it would be like trying to find one seed in a poppy pod. Absolutely my favorite to date of the insightful ones that is, I have a Kitbook I like too (that is what I call your story poems), as I read them to my girls. ~*~ Remember to tell someone today that you love them as tomorrow may never come ~*~ |

Now this is insight! However, do you think I could find that darn poem about the animals in the forest - nope! I want to show etome that poem and you know me, I deleted the one you sent me in email. Help when you have time. It is about the destruction of the forest and the poor, poor animals. Oh thankee. |
