Wrote this for my little nephew, he's in the hospital and I hoped it would cheer him Our Day Josh and I decided we'd go for a walk And I told your mom we would have a good talk Rescued a damsel and routed a dragon We made a pirate ship of an old wagon You won my flag and I walked the plank We splashed through the stream and slid down the bank Glided over gullies and ran down the ravine Crawled through the grass our knees turning green We crept on our bellies to watch bunnies play And spoke to squirrels we met on the way We came back home muddy head to toe. Your mom met us "Where you Think Your going to go" "You Go out back , I'll get the hose" "Your not coming in this house with those wet muddy clothes" We headed out back our heads bowed in shame Until we realized "hey another fun game" We splashed and we squirted and as you would guess We left the back yard in a wet muddy mess Your mom on the porch tapping her foot, She looks like she wants my hair by the root Her look hard, then softens, and she smiles in the end She knows I just wanted to spend time with my friend Author Mr»ÄlleÿÇät copyright c Ed Schmidt 2001 [This message has been edited by Mr»ÄlleÿÇät (edited 06-10-2001).] |
