Past the Eleventh Hour Virginia Salter it’s way past time to be in bed and I should surely go, but I have had a nap du jour and the Sandman I don’t know so I shall write and I shall pose ideas of blithering kind until mine eyes are heavy laden or I have lost my mind the dark of night is fastly deep, as deep as pitch it is the clock chimed three-quarter past the ‘leventh hour, and I don’t know what gives alas, me thinks the numbness comes to settle on my brow and dizzy up my thoughts and words as unto to sleep I bow ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ alas, alack, I must tell you, Sir, the hour’s after dawn for sleep did come in the middle, Sir, and I met it with a yawn a yawn, a stretch, a somnambulant pace----- and now I’ve met a whole new day, by His love and by His grace © June 7, 2000 |

Brilliant poem, I think tonight may be one of those nights, I realy like poems on that theme, I wrote one myself called 'insomnia' . It's not great, but if your interested you can probably find it on the search under all archives somewhere . Anyway, thanks very much, I loved it, L.of.L. Tommy .
