Special Friends Virginia Salter I have some special friends who are a grand example of how to live and how to work and how to find contentment in the seasons they go through. No matter their occupation, they meet it with their heart, their energies and loyalties they fully impart. though they may be busy, from dawn to dusk each day, they still take to time to be a friend and over others pray. Sometimes, they don’t take enough time to sit and rest and play, but when they do, they do it zealously, for there’s no better way. It’s my hope you get a chance to meet them in a neighbor or through a friend for they’re the best kind of model, on this side, that time can send. © June 3, 2000 |

indeed they are special friends....didn't know that there was a friend's challenge, but I think you've met well. Charisma |

So true Virginia...I think this is a very tender poem...and it made me think of all the greed in the world and how it's so unnecessary....Being happy with your situation in life is the most important thing of all. Like Don Henely from the Eagles said in one of his songs....."I ain't seen no hearse with a luggage rack." The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up |

This was wonderful! I count myself lucky to have a handful of special friends in my life and hope that everyone can find a few too : ) |
