Unto thee my Lord, do
I lift up my eyes.
Help me to deal with
Those who want to advise.

To you alone, do I bare my soul
While people talk
Help me to maintain control.

I have set my heart
To do your will,
But they have set their word
As a sword to kill.

Surround me with people
Who will believe in me.
Counsellors working to
Set my trapped dream free.

Lord show me your way,
Though others may have their say.

Dear God, I will put
My trust in thee.
I know you won’t let people
Triumph over me.

Show me your ways O God
Teach me your path.
Then shall I show goodness and mercy,
Instead of vengeance and wrath.

Putting aside the negative folks,
My soul shall dwell at ease.
God is the only person
In whom I yearn to please,

There will always be people
Telling me how I should do it.
But if I follow your lead, God,
I’ll never have to prove it.

Show me your way, though others will
Surely have their say.

Through all this talk, keep
My soul and deliver me.
Cause me to be preserved in
Uprightness and Integrity.

This dream is yours
You placed it in my heart
No matter what’s said
I Won’t let it depart.

This dream is yours, it’s mine
It belongs to us.
Together we will make it reality
In the midst of the fuss.
