Embrace the Day by Michael Sometimes we all have knelt in pain Our lives in tatters, soiled and torn And thought we'd lose our sanity So broken we and so forlorn I know I have such memories I know like me, you also do So empty did we feel that day The broken pieces, yet no glue And if we had the glue it seems Why piece them back and then go on When all that's left are broken dreams And the journey to make alone? We piece them back because we must To find new hope in days unborn Though hurt, we have to learn to trust And bury days that now we mourn It's hurt and yet our heart will strive It hungers for such tenderness It's wounded but it will survive And longs again to taste a kiss And kissed again, if so you choose Embrace the day and you'll be free Let others see how young your heart Wherein there lies such purity One life we have but many days And many years a chance to take To shape it into perfection With the decisions that we make We'll make mistakes but don't lose hope Each day renews our spirit so Your heart will once again be kissed And once again will love it know Proust- |

A beautiful poem of hope and faith, Michael! Wonderfully penned, this should be on a billboard sign in plain view where everyone, in every city of every country can see!~ Take care, Melissa~ |

Michael, my dear friend--I had to smile when I read this, because you posted it at a time when I needed to hear such words... "We piece them back because we must To find new hope in days unborn Though hurt, we have to learn to trust And bury days that now we mourn" it is a remarkable thing about human nature, the way "hope floats", and this poem shows that. Wonderful writing! |

Michael~ What a compelling read ... so much compassion in it's content. To set upon the day a promise of embrace ... this is a very, very good thing. Enjoyed and thanks to Martie for cranking it back to the top ! ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |
